Community Relations

The 5th Annual Blue Nose International Marathon will be held on Saturday, May 17th and Sunday, May 18th 2008. In true Blue Nose style, this year's race routes cover Halifax and Dartmouth, showcasing the landmarks and communities that make our city so great.

As a resident along the route, we want you to be updated on the logistics and timing of the event so that you can plan your weekend with no surprises.

Look for your neighbourhood or area in the list below to find out more about what you can expect. We encourage you to use the information provided to plan for alternative travel routes if required.

There are lots of ways to get involved and be a part of the action on race weekend. Come out and lend a hand, cheer on the runners or lace up your sneakers and giv'er!

Downtown Halifax

All race routes for Saturday and Sunday events start and finish in the downtown core in front of the Town Clock adjacent to the Halifax Metro Centre on Brunswick St. As a result, Brunswick St. (between Duke St. and Sackville St.) will be closed from 6:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. on Saturday and from 6:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. on Sunday.    Due to the closure of Brunswick St. there will be limited access to side streets in the surrounding area and traffic flow will be managed by staffed barriers.
