The Blue Nose Weekend ‘experience’ carries well beyond putting your feet on the street in the Event of your choice! We’re proud to offer a wide array of services and activities all through the three-day weekend, May 18-20, 2012.

Blue Nose Pasta Village

All Pasta Village tickets will be available for pick-up at the GoodLife FITNESS Expo at the WTCC Friday, May 18 and Saturday, May 19.

Shaped by the spirit of an Italian bistro, Blue Nose Pasta Village returns for 2012. Pasta Village will be hosted at the WTCC providing a large informal atmosphere with a special vibe. The menu will feature several varieties of pasta and sauce along with all the traditional fixings for your pre-race carbo loading pleasure. Tickets are $17.50 for adults and $7.50 for kids (U15) and can be purchased any time online during the registration process or during the GoodLife FITNESS Expo on Friday May 18 or Saturday May 19.

Pre-Race Mixer + Bag Storage

Bag Storage for adult participants is available inside Halifax Metro Centre on Sunday, May 20 from 6-8am. Please bring ONLY ONE BAG per person, as space is limited.

Timing is Everything.

Again this year, Scotiabank Blue Nose Marathon runners and walkers will be using the new generation MyLaps BIBTags.

BIBTags contain a radio-frequency transponder, attached to the back of the participant bib, which sends a signal to a receiver in the finish-line mats. It’s a significant improvement over the shoe-based ‘chip’, as the BIBTag doesn’t need to be removed, and participants don’t have to return the BIB. Please be reminded, your bib MUST be attached to the front of your shirt for the transponder to work properly.

Personalized Bibs

Once again, personalized bibs are available. If you registered prior to May 1, 2012 your FIRST name will appear on your bib! All participants, regardless of registration date, receive a race bib. And of course, your race kit also contains 4 safety pins for ease of attachment of your bib. WE ASK THAT THE BIB BE WORN PROMINENTLY ON YOUR CHEST ON THE OUTSIDE OF ANY CLOTHING TO ENSURE ACCURATE TIMING AND TO ASSIST COURSE MARSHALLS AND OTHER VOLUNTEERS.

GoodLife FITNESS Expo

Featuring over 60 exhibitors, EXPO offers an educational marketplace for staying current with all the developments in the rapidly changing world of healthy, active living. Located inside WTCC adjacent to Race Kit Pick Up, EXPO is open for 20 hours over two days, Friday May 18 and Saturday May 19.

OptiMYz Speakers’ Corner

Back bigger and better in 2012, located inside WTCC, OptiMYz Speakers’ Corner programming will feature a range of presenters and speakers focusing on topics near and dear to the heart of runners, walkers and folks focused on healthy, active living. Topics such as footwear, training, injury prevention, nutrition, clothing and apparel etc. etc.

Finish Line "Space" Blankets

These funky, mylar, blankets are a traditional feature and will be available for all participants on Sunday May 20 in the post finish line area on Brunswick Street.

Smile!  While you're going through the Finish Line, we'll be capturing that very special moment so that you can have a lifetime memento of your 'race to the finish'.

EMERA Post Race Mixer

Also located on the floor of HMC, you arrive here immediately after crossing the finish line up which is located on Brunswick Street. Lots of fluids and carbo reloading items are available, as well as the restorative goodness of Chocolate Milk. Watch for numerous special services, such as the LifeMark Massage Centre and of course, the opportunity to watch the 'live video feed' off Brunswick Street directly into the HMC Silvervision entertainment centre. Check out your race results and if you're a race winner, we'll make sure you receive your very special NovaScotian Crystal award! Look for the 2nd and 3rd place finisher awards, at the Awards Pick Up table.

Race Time Results

Following the event, race results will be immediately posted inside Halifax Metro Centre, located on the glass partitions. Additionally, results are posted on our web site and the sportstats.ca web site. Make sure you pick up the Chronicle Herald on Monday May 21 and follow all the race stories, including all the race times, in their special supplement.

LifeMark Massage and Physio services

Make sure to plan for a post-race massage! LifeMark is pleased to partner with Scotiabank Blue Nose Marathon to offer massage and physio services to participants.  Please visit the floor of the Halifax Metro Centre on Sunday May 20 after you've completed your race.

Molson 67 Post Race Party

It’s The Question on everyone’s minds: what are we planning for this year’s Molson 67 Post-Race Party to top last year’s scintillating performance by the Barra MacNeil’s. The answer: our CBC friends are working hard to top the ‘Barra’s’!  So stay tuned for all the exciting news! And yes again for 2012, admission is free.

But that’s not all we have in store for you. We will announce the winner of the $1000 Best Water Station Contest.

Always a big favourite, don’t miss the ‘reveal’ of the official Blue Nose event video at 9:00 p.m. And then you’ll want to switch your running shoes for dancing shoes because 101.3 The Bounce will get you moving with a DJ show. Come out and join us in Suite 200 of the World Trade and Convention Centre starting at 7:00 p.m. After all, we are ‘Maritimers’ and Monday May 21 is a holiday!
