RACE WEEKEND EVENTS

Race Weekend is far more than simply participating in one of the six events of your choice. "Myles" has purposely prepared a special 3-day series of events designed to provide you, your family, your friends etc with one great experience after another. A few examples are?..

Friday May 16

11:00am - 8:00pm

Check out the D250 Active Living Expo and Race Kit Pick Up

Located inside the Grand Ballroom at the World Trade & Convention Centre, you'll be energized, motivated and informed by visiting our 60 booth D250 Active Living Expo while you're on-site to pick up your Race Kit.

6:30pm

Sponsor partners Running Room and Trail Shop both offer 'free' pre-race opportunities to work out the kinks with special Friday evening offerings.

Check out the Running Room 2K Fun Run starting fromn the store on SpringGarden Road at 6:30pm. Legendary running guru John Stanton will take you for a quick trot around various downtown streets in preparation.  

For something different, head on over to The Trail Shop on Quinpool Road where a Nordic Walk & Talk clinic will be held. Start time is 6:30pm

Saturday May 17

8:00am - 7:00pm

Day Two of the D250 Active Living Expo and Race Kit Pick Up, including featured guest presenters at Speakers Corner from 11:30a-4:30pm. Click here for more details about the AVW TELAV Speaker's Corner. Again all these activities are centrally located inside WTCC's Grand Ballroom.

Doctors Nova Scotia Youth Run

Starting on Brunswick Street in front of the Town Clock, come out to see just how excited 3000+ kids can get about running in their won event at Blue Nose Marathon! And afterwards, the kids and their 'fans' will enjoy a special Post Race Celebration inside Halifax Metro Centre.

4:00pm - 7:00pm

NEW for 2008, Blue Nose Pasta Village represents an exciting and unique addition to Race Weekend. Resulting from a customer focus group earlier in the year, Pasta Village is designed to be more in tune with your pasta-loading preferences, Pasta Village will be located immediately adjacent to the D250 Active Living Expo and will provide a bistro-like informal atmosphere where several varieties of pasta and sauce will be available to go along with salads etc. Also new for 2008?. a special Kids menu.

Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for U15 and can be purchased any time during D250 Active Living Expo on Friday May 16 or Saturday May 17. Tickets can also be purchased on line while you are registering for your Blue Nose race event.  

Sunday May 17

7:00am - 5:00pm

Runner Bag Storage

Come see us at Halifax Metro Centre to safely store your 'day bag' while you're off conquering the streets of Halifax and Dartmouth. Upon your 'glorious return' to HMC, come see us again to retrieve your bag.

9:00am - 3:00pm

McDonald's Team Relay at Garrison Grounds

If you and the gang are signed up for the McDonald's YMCA Team Relay, you can count on a day-long series of fun and festivities over at Garrison Grounds at the Relay Transition area.

10:00am - 3:00pm

LifeMark Physiotherapy & Massage Centre

Located on the floor of HMC, make sure you check this out! After your run is over, sign up with the good folks at LifeMark for a post-race massage! And best of all, its free.

9:30am - 5:30pm

Post Race Mixer

Also located on the floor of HMC, you arrive hear immediately after crossing the finish line up on Brunswick Street. Lots of fluids and carbo reloading available along with numerous special services, such as the LifeMark Physiotherapy & Massage Centre.  Check out your race results and if you're an race winner, we'll make sure you receive your very special NovaScotian Crystal award!

7:00pm - 12 midnight

Post Race Party

And of course, being hospitable Maritimers?.we're going to throw a good ole down-home party. Featuring one of Halifax's favourite dance bands KAPYR, you'll be sure to enjoy a great celebration of a wonderful weekend. Again, centrally located at the Grand Ballroom inside WTCC.
