McDONALD's TEAM RELAY - For YMCA Strong Kids

Myles is back and would love for you to walk or run in his shoes. Join hundreds of people who lace laced up their sneakers and come back each year to raise funds for kids and, as a group, take part in the largest race weekend east of Ottawa! The 2007 Team Relay raised over $40,000 for The YMCA Strong Kids Program, helping to provide financial assistance for Children and Youth to have affordable access to the character building programs of The YMCA in the Greater Halifax/Dartmouth region.

While the rest of your teammates are stationed at the Garrison Grounds, your 1st team member will start with The Full and Half Marathoners at 9:00 am in downtown Halifax, on Brunswick Street, in front of the Halifax Metro Centre and the historic Town Clock located on Citadel Hill. From the Start Line you will head south on Brunswick Street, west (right) on Sackville Street, running around the base of Citadel Hill by following Bell Road and Ahern Avenue by the new Citadel High School. You will then proceed north onto North Park Street, beside the Halifax Common. The route will then continue north on Agricola Street to North Street, turn right on North down the hill to turn right (south) on Brunswick Street and run through one of Halifax's oldest and most historic neighbourhoods, back to the Town Clock.

As the first runner on your team, you will run through the 'start/finish' line, south on Brunswick Street and west on Sackville Street to the Garrison Grounds where you will 'pass the baton' to your next team member.  The rest of your teammates will cover the same course, starting and finishing at the Garrison Grounds.  Except, of course, your last team member, who will finish your team marathon at the Finish line at the Town Clock.  While the rest of your members run their 4.2 km, you will cheer them on and party at the Garrison Grounds.
