COURSE INFORMATION
Route details are subject to final Civic approvals. (Pending Civic Approvals and Official Measurement)
The Chronicle Herald 10K route will begin at 9:30 AM on Brunswick Street, in front of the historic Town Clock located on Citadel Hill, the same start line as the other runs. You will head south on Brunswick Street, west (right) on Sackville Street, running around the base of Citadel Hill by following Bell Road and Ahern Avenue by the new Citadel High School. You will then proceed north onto North Park Street, beside the Halifax Commons. The route will then continue north on Agricola Street to North Street, turn right on North and proceed across the Macdonald Bridge. On the bridge, you will have an outstanding view of Halifax Harbour, the Naval Dockyard and the skylines of Dartmouth and Halifax.
Once in Dartmouth (4 km), you will head up Nantucket Avenue across Victoria Road on to School Street. At the top of School you will turn left on Slayter Street for a couple of blocks to the intersection with Vanessa Drive, circle back on the other side of Slayter past School Street to Brightwood Avenue, circle back again and then head back down School Street toward the Macdonald Bridge to return to Halifax. Once you reach the Halifax side of the bridge you'll then turn left (south) on Brunswick Street and run through one of Halifax's oldest and most historic neighbourhoods, back to the Town Clock and the FINISH LINE!
