Wednesday, May 14, Halifax, NS - On Saturday, May 17 and Sunday, May 18, Halifax is proud to host the fifth annual Blue Nose International Marathon. As a result of marathon activities, traffic along the race routes will be affected.
On Saturday Brunswick Street?between Duke Street and Sackville Street?will be closed from 6:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
On Sunday Brunswick Street?between Duke Street and Sackville Street?will be closed from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
The Five Corners intersection (west of Citadel High), continuing along North Park Street and Agricola Street to Bloomfield Street will be closed from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
The Macdonald Bridge will be closed to traffic between 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. while runners cross the bridge.
Side streets in these areas will be subject to controlled access and traffic delays should be expected in Halifax and Dartmouth. Traffic along the route will be managed by Halifax Regional Police. Please be cautious on all streets along the race route this weekend.
To make this event a success for all participants and volunteers, Blue Nose organizers are asking for your help in the following areas:
· Motorists are asked to drive carefully and slowly, and follow the instructions of police along the route.
· Please drive in the opposite direction of the runners/walkers.
· Please allow for the possibility of extra travel time along the race course.
